‘Konsistency’ begins with ‘k’

nope, i didn’t spell it wrong… i did it so you’d open this blog…

It has been 18 days since I last posted a blog. Let me break that down, 10 days I was in New Zealand without a laptop and 8 days I was being lazy. Oh I just gave it away to what I believe is poisonous venom: laziness. Being ‘konsistent’ is a great idea in the beginning. Have you ever been camping or done a BBQ and had to start a fire? whether it was for the logs in a campfire or charcoal in the grill. When you add the kerosene in the fire and throw the match on there, boom. There is a massive fireball. It looks great, feels great, you might even take your phone out to take a picture. But if you don’t feed into the fire, give it 3-6 minutes before it dies down. Keeping the fire burning is a longer process than starting the fire.

k, i’m gonna do this…

When I first started this blog nearly a month ago, I had to say to myself, “I need to be ‘konsistent’… K, I’m gonna do this” To be completely honest, I pushed out 3 blogs in 2 1/2 weeks. And what happened afterwards? 18 days of silence (going to NZ or the other 8 days of being lazy is no excuse) First, start off making a commitment, whether it be a long term or short term or no term, ‘K, i’m gonna do this…’

k, looks like i need to change the method…

There’s a massive misconception of what ‘konsistency’ looks like. Many think it’s doing the same thing over and over and over again. False. That becomes so boring, so quickly. I’ve asked many people why they stopped doing what they started to do and they said, “it got boring”… well if you keep doing the same thing over and over, it will get boring. So let me make this clear, I believe being ‘konsistent’ isn’t doing the same thing over and over, it is bringing newness into the time allocated slot of what (big picture umbrella) you’re doing. Let me say that in NY Post terms… Journalists write articles. Daily. But they are NOT the same articles. They change their method in order to be ‘konsistent’

k, guess i’ll stick it out…

Last but not least, ‘konsistency’ builds longevity. It builds a track record. It builds a resume. Answer this, what’s more attractive? a person who has a 6 page resume who has worked a new job every 6 months or a person who has 1 page resume with 3 jobs that were each 3-5 years long? who would you hire? When I began this article, every time I spelled ‘konsistent’, spell check would correct it. It’s just doing its job. But for me to make my point across, I had to spell it that way. I had to stick it out from the beginning. Therefore, every time I spelled it, I had to go back and put a K instead of the C. Yup it got annoying. But damn it feels good that you read my article after 18 days of silence. woo!!!!
